Repent With Sin-Care, A Line Of Skin Serums For Those Of Us A Little Less Than Perfect.

Despite my vanity, I've done all the things one ought not to when it comes to protecting my skin over the years. I've indulged in both smoke and drink, baked in the sun, ingested far too many sweets, rarely get a good night's sleep and live in a city known for smog. And yes, my skin is paying for it. Enter Sin-Care, a line of nine specialty booster serums from Australia, is here to help me - and you - atone.

The Sin-Care serums are made with natural ingredients tested for their efficacy and come in sleek, recyclable Italian glass 50 ml pump bottles. You don't need to change your present skin care regimen or buy a bunch of products, just use this along with your other products to help your skin repent for all that unintentional skin sinning. The packaging has a tongue-in-cheek retro pin-up girl look and the frosted glass bottles are made of recycled glass. Carried at the chicest of stores, they cost $80 each.

from their press release:
Also known as “extrinsic” aging, lifestyle factors both within and outside of our control can age skin as much as time itself. After years of studying the effects that certain habits and environments can have on skin, the company has launched the world’s first serum-only product line with a holistic, lifestyle-based approach.

Most anti-aging skin care products are designed to reduce the signs of chronological aging, also known as “intrinsic” aging. This refers to the slowing of collagen production, the breakdown of collagen and elastin, and a weakening of the skin’s underlying support structure. But these products can’t possibly know your secret indulgences (be they smoking, sugar, alcohol or sun), whether you live in a polluted city or in the desert, or what kind of stressors you may face – from over-exercise to lack of sleep. All of these external factors can produce fine lines and wrinkles, and dull the skin.

Pick your potion
Simply own up to your problem, select your Sin Care fix from a repertoire of nine precise, silky serums – and slip it into your existing skin care regimen. There’s no need to change the products you’re currently using. Choose from:

• PARTY GIRL – If you love evenings out with friends spent to the music of champagne corks, cocktail shakers doing their work, and the clink of glasses, this one is for you:

• URBAN RENEWAL – City life is exhilarating, except for the polluted air. Give skin a breather

• SUN GODDESS – For hard core ex-sun junkies AND everyone who drives, walks the dog or strolls out to the mailbox

• LINE REWIND – Neglected skin is older looking skin. Time for a do-over

• RELAXATION SENSATION – A spa in a bottle for stressed faces

• SLEEP DOCTOR – For those who work or frolic too hard

• SUGAR HIT – Have your cake and beautiful skin too

• SMOKER’S SECRET – Use it, just until you quit

• SKIN COACH – Replenish minerals after that triathlon, or brutal session with your very mean trainer

Saintly serums
Sinned against skin needs serious help. Sin-Care chose to deliver that in the form of serums, which are far more concentrated than most facial creams. Such creams are made of either “oil in water” or “water in oil” emulsions which sometimes contain as little of 5 -7% active ingredients. (A greater quantity would cause them to separate or disintegrate.) Serums, on the other hand, can accommodate a greater number of concentrated ingredients and a higher concentration of those actives, thus offering stronger anti-aging protection. In addition, serums can be layered or mixed with other skin care products to customize a beauty routine. They can be used on any skin type and are also gentle enough to use in the delicate area around the eyes, one of the spots that is highly susceptible to lifestyle aging.

Virtuous ingredients
Sin-Care serums are made from a cocktail of nutrients that include natural cosmeceuticals, vitamins, herbs, antioxidants and biotech ingredients like yeast and algae. They also contain hyaluronic acid from a vegetal source to help instantly diminish the appearance of wrinkles and moisturize the skin. All ingredients have been tested for their efficacy against the lifestyle factor in question.

Even if you’re zealously faithful when it comes to hydrating, using sunscreen, and always removing makeup before bed, you’re bound to commit a skin care sin from time to time. Thanks to Sin-Care, your skin no longer has to let the whole world know what you’ve been up to. For that, there’s always Facebook.

Sin-Care serums are available at NewBeauty in Fred Segal Santa Monica, Henri Bendel in New York City, Soft Surroundings stores, Beauty Collection Sherman Oaks, Amazon Prime, BeautySak.com, and other fine retailers across the U.S. For further information, visit here

Pretty As A Picture. The Stunning New Hasselblad Lunar Camera.

Combining traditional skills, the development of special techniques, and a passion for perfection, the Lunar is born from exceptional quality. Lunar is unique because each model is perfected one by one, yet different as only the hand of an artist can make them.

The collection comprises five models, each with their own form and style.  The functionality and specification of each model is identical - choosing your grip and top plate material lets you reflect your individuality.

The Lunar embraces the traditional Hasselblad state-of-the-art image capture combined with stunning Italian design features. For the first time they are using carbon fiber, titanium, wood, leather and precious metals - including gold.

Black leather:

Stylishly durable. The delicately textured, firm leather grip is in a class of its own. The grip recounts a tale of elegance that your fingers can read by covering the countless paths scored by the texture of this extraordinary material.

Brown Tuscan leather:

Centuries of tradition. The peerless class of hand-polished Tuscan leather for a classic look and feel. Designed to last you many years, leather is a natural product and it will change with time, giving each piece its own unique personality.

Carbon Fibre:

High-Tech style. The Carbon Fibre grip combines a decisively high tech look with the exceptional characteristics of resistance and lightness found in this extraordinary material. This is the right choice for those who love minimal and modern style with exclusive detail.

Mahogany:

The warmth of nature. The finest Italian wood with a waxless matt finish to optimise the grip. In addition to its high structural strength, this material retains its original warm tones, while with the passage of time it acquires an aged appearance through the patina that covers it.

Olive Wood:

A hint of opulence. The unmistakable richly-veined Olive Wood provides a tough and durable grip with a matt finish offering a comfortable, smooth hold. The wood will age subtly over time, giving the indelible stamp of the owner.

The Lens shown above:

LF 16mm:
The wide coverage on the LF 16mm f/2.8 makes for comfortable shooting in situations ranging from cramped indoor settings to sweeping landscapes, and the large maximum aperture is ideal for handheld shooting in low light.

LF 18–55mm:
The LF 18–55mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS is ideally designed for comfortable framing and capture of most subjects encountered in daily life, and a built-in Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation system makes it possible to produce sharp images even when shooting handheld in low light. The OSS system is so effective that you'll be able to capture blur-free images at shutter speeds up to four steps slower than would be possible without image stabilisation.

LF 18-200mm:
The LF 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 OSS features an extensive 11x zoom range, from wide to telephoto with impressive image quality all the way. The advanced Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation system built-in will not only make it easier to shoot blur-free stills at long focal lengths, but it also has an automatic Active Mode that will help keep your movie images steady as you move around with the camera.

Punking People Perfectly On April Fool's Day: Virgin Atlantic and Lelo.

On April 1st, otherwise known as April Fool's Day, several brands decided to participate in the fun of pulling one over on their audiences by offering faux products. Two of the best were the Glass-Bottom Plane by Virgin Atlantic and The IKEA-like Vibrator, the GASM, from Lelo.

The World's First Glass-Bottom Plane from Virgin Atlantic

On April 1st, Virgin Atlantic announced on their site and blog that they are now offering flights to Scotland aboard the world's first plane with a transparent glass bottom.

The blog featured a first-person announcement from Mr. Branson of the new technology:
"I’m thrilled to announce that Virgin has created another world-first with the introduction of the technology required to produce the world’s first glass-bottomed plane. This technological innovation coincides with the start of Virgin Atlantic Airways’ first ever domestic service to Scotland.

In 1984 we started the wonderful airline that is Virgin Atlantic. I am incredibly proud of yet another aviation breakthrough which has been years in the making. I can’t wait to experience the first flight for myself with my family and other natural born explorers.

2012 was a year of celebrating what is brilliant about Great Britain and I’m excited that in 2013 we are continuing this uplifting spirit by developing an experience that will enable Little Red passengers to appreciate the beauty of the British landscape. And with an unrivalled view of Scotland I hope this gives Scottish tourism an even bigger boost.

We hope to trial the glass bottom technology with other Virgin airlines in time and have asked other Virgin companies to support this innovative trial and launch our new domestic Scottish route. This really is a team effort from all corners of Virgin." -- By Richard Branson. Founder of Virgin Group

They even phonied up partnerships for the supposed plane

The UK Mirror's broke the news that the announcement was a joke in a 3pm update of their own article about the plane.

The GASM Personal Vibrator from Lelo

Lelo took their own Swedish heritage into consideration when offering customers the Gasm, their latest green, flat-packed personal vibrator via their site and blog. The hilarious mock product included an instructive video, packaging, line art and instructions perfectly in keeping with the look and tone of the Swedish products offered by IKEA.

Our latest vibrator has a number of exciting features that include:
● Easy self-assembly in as little as 1 minute: put together your own pleasure, and save on production costs!
● On-call LELO representatives available to advise on proper assembly and use of your GÓ’SM – totally free, 24 hours a day!
● For a greener peace of mind, GÓ’SM is made from 100% recycled materials like compressed wood pulp and recycled rubber – in a lush shade of forest green!
● GÓ’SM is powered by a long-lasting battery fully rechargeable with manual hand-crank technology (Allen key included)
● Arrives in new flat-packaging solution for even more savings and reduced environmental impact
● Savings on assembly, shipping and storage go directly to customers, who can get GÓ’SM for USD 179.99

The announcement ended with the following:
"GÓ’SM is available from LELO.com and selected retailers starting within the coming week– visit us again soon and discover how helping the planet can be a pleasure! For any further inquiries or request an opportunity to interview the designers, please contact pr@lelo.com"

Lelo's was so successful that people continue to request the Gasm from the brand.

Kudos to both brands for a great sense of humor and imagination.

Wine In A Handbag. French Wines In Chic Packaging. What A Great Idea.

Wine in a box is so tacky, despite the improvement in many of the designs. A fresh way to serve up wine in a box are these smart "Bag-In-A-Bag" white, red and rosé wines from Vernissage of Sweden. French wines packaged in stylish looking handbags - a fabulous idea for birthday parties, Bridal Showers, Fashion Shows, concerts, picnics, conferences and more.

Packaging French wines into a case that looks like a chic handbag, complete with tap or spout was such a clever design, it won the 2010 "Most Innovative" in the Carton Awards 2010 and a prestigious gold award in the Pentawards, the world´s largest packaging design competition.

The White: 2011 Chardonnay Viogner from France
Vernissage has a young, fresh and aromatic bouquet with hints of fruits such as apple, citrus, pineapple and vanilla. The flavour is dry, flowery and very fruity with the essence of pear, citrus, tropical fruits and vanilla.

Vernissage makes an excellent aperitif, but goes well with flavourful fish and shellfish dishes, especially with Asian influences of lime and ginger.

The Red: 2010 Syrah Cabernet Sauvigon from France
Vernissage Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark red wine. Inviting fruity scent with notes of spices, tones of ripe berries, black current, blackberries and herbs as well as chocolate and barrels. Goes well with red and white meat, pasta, poultry and aged cheese.

The Rosé: 2011 Syrah Rosé from France
The French Vernissage Syrah Rosé is a lively and fresh rosé wine from the region Pays d'Oc in southern France. With a hint of raspberries and blackberries in the flavor, it has a herblike finish. The generously fruity aroma has notes of wild red berries. Vernissage Syrah Rosé is perfect as an aperitif, but is also suitable for fish, seafood or light chicken salad.

The Bag-in-Bag wine Vernissage has taken both wine-lovers and the press by storm, in Sweden as well as internationally. The successful project was created by Takis Soldatos, Oenoforos, in cooperation with Sofia Blomberg Art Direction & Design. The result is elegant design combined with high quality wines from the French wine region Pays d'Oc.

The thought behind Vernissage is a playful approach to the curious and modern wine consumer. At the same time, a woman´s touch has propelled the Bag-in-Bag wine from the practical to the elegant.
