Ellie Konig and Quang Dinh Know How To Do A Wedding Video. Take Note, Soon-To-Be-Marrieds.

Like most newlyweds, the lovely Ellie Koning and handsome Quang Dinh wanted to capture the afterparty of their Aug. 11th nuptials on video. Unlike most couples, they used small Seattle-based production company Super Frog Saves Tokyo to do the job. (On the company's official facebook page, the folks at SFST they say they made this video for their "boss.")

The video was shot at the reception site Sodo Park in Seattle Washington in a photo booth, a now popular trend at weddings. The result is a recorded total of 4 minutes and 27 seconds of sweet jubilation unlike most painfully tacky wedding videos.

It's been featured on MSN, Glamour.com, Jezebel and more and is rapidly turning Ellie and Quang into social media stars.

Shot at super high speed on the RED Epic camera, this 160 frame per second video unfolds in slow motion to Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” and captures the guests with simple wedding favor props like confetti, bubbles, poppers and silly string in a photo booth.

The joyful and ebullient energy conveyed is so much better and more touching than drunken statements made to camera or master shots of a dark room full of spastic dancers.

Congratulation to the happy couple, shown below in a more subdued and romantic photo from their wedding (photo courtesy of Ellie's facebook page):

Love Hurts: A First Aid Kit For The Broken Heart

Who among us hasn't spent a tearful evening eating chocolate followed by a vodka chaser while taking a candlelit bubble bath and listening to heart-wrenching songs in an effort to forget that asshole or bitch? You haven't? Well, maybe you ought to - it works surprisingly well. Which is why the Love Hurts concept kit by Melanie Chernock, created for an activity book assignment, is spot on.

The recent Graphic Designer/Animator graduate thought it would be more interesting to make a sort of activity kit instead of an activity book. So she came up with the concept of Love Hurts: A first aid kit for a broken heart. Melanie wanted to approach the product with a sense of humor and she did - creating a fun kit that contains the necessary items needed to get through a rough breakup: dark chocolate, vodka, bubble bath soap, a candle with matches, candy hearts, a mix CD, and, if all else fails, tissues.

All of the products come neatly and attractively packaged in a compact kit designed by Melanie. Now, if only it were available for purchase.

The promo video below was also made to show the products in use:

Now Lovemaking Is An Art You Can Frame. New Art Is Love Kits by Jeremy Brown.

I'm not sure that the idea of rolling around naked during lovemaking on a canvas creates what Jeremy Brown calls a 'masterpiece', but his Love Is Art Kit has been getting rave reviews from The View and the Today Show's Bobby Thomas, while also collecting praise from Molly Sims and feature magazines such as COSMOPOLITAN, ESQUIRE, GLAMOUR and PAPER.

In his new collection of Love Is Art Kits, Brown expands his line to include a new variety of colors and textures, which include red, white and monochromatic tints such as copper and silver to his palette, as well as equality themed stencils (15% of the proceeds from the equality kits will be donated to the Human Rights Campaign), allowing couples to customize their experience.

Red on Red kit:

Black and Copper kit:

Black and Silver Kit:

The Equality Stencil kit:

Signature and Hearts kits:

Shades of Grey kit:

Custom versions, like those shown below, are also available.

Prices for the kits range from $65-$89. Custom kit prices vary depending upon design.

How it works:
You simply roll the plastic tarp out onto the floor, place the specially treated canvas on top of the plastic sheet, pour the 4oz of specially fomulated paint that comes in your kit onto the canvas, and then use your bodies to move the paint around and across the canvas, creating a unique abstract image. Throw the disposable slippers on and walk to the shower or bath to wash each other (or yourself if you've had enough 'together time' by then).

After your one of a kind abstract painting has dried, simply take the canvas to your local art store and have it stretched onto a frame. Or stretch it yourself buy purchasing stretching bars and using a staple gun. And voila! Your most intimate experience is immortalized as abstract art.

About the Artist:

South African born artist, Jeremy Brown has redefined romance and creativity with his abstract approach to creating art. Drawing inspiration from French artist Yves Klein and various works of art by Andy Warhol, Brown has been making art during intimacy for over a decade.

How it began:
One day, a close friend complimented him on a painting that was hung inside his house. After discovering how the painting was made, she asked him to provide her with everything she needed to make a painting with her husband on their anniversary. Jeremy put together a small package with all of the materials needed and wrote a little directional note for them to follow. They absolutely loved it, and the idea for the Love Art Kit was born. Jeremy then spent 6 months researching and developing materials to ensure a safe project, including a treated non-allergenic cotton canvas, as well as, a specially-formulated non-toxic, washable paint.

He packaged the kit under the name Love Is Art. According to Brown, "Art takes patience, dedication, practice, creativity, open mind, and an open heart...so does love. Love is art."

Simply put, LOVE IS ART is a kit that comes with everything a couple needs to safely make a tangible piece of abstract expressionistic art while being intimate with each other. What is left is a one-of-a-kind abstract painting that represents that special moment, that can then be stretched, framed and hung on the wall -- a reminder of the love that was shared. The kit also provides a unique bonding experience for the couples involved, as they work together as a team to craft their own unique work of art.

iPhone App and Social Media:

Those too shy to get in the paint can also express their inner artist via the "Capture the Love" iPhone application. "Capture The Love" allows users to capture, document and share moments of love with the world. Features of the app include the option of 32 various filters/effects, a timestamp, and geo-tagging to showcase where the "love" was captured.

Each upload can be shared via Pinterest, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or directly sent to capturethelove to leave their mark on the Capture the Love world map (shown above). Users are able to download the app free of charge since October 1, 2012.

LOVE IS ART is not only a brand focused on the intersection of love and art, but on the emphasis of giving back. An avid supporter of the human rights campaign, Brown also mentors Atlanta youth participants of One Love Generation, a non profit organization bringing awareness and positive social change through art and community involvement. In addition, Brown seeks to publish a book titled "Capture The Love - Vol. 1". The book will contain all of the highest favored pictures submitted to capturethelove, with proceeds being donated to charity.

Jeremy Brown believes that like art, love knows no boundaries. He states, "Art takes patience, dedication, practice, creativity, an open mind, and an open heart...so does love. Love is art." Already a success with numerous couples, the LOVE IS ART kit is the perfect suggestion for those looking to explore their creative side. Perfect for various occasions including bachelorette parties, wedding gifts, anniversaries, birthdays, or engagements. With the holidays readily approaching, the kit is also as a great addition to your holiday gift guide.

LOVE & PAINT - Another artist, another option.

Not the only one to turn the art of lovemaking into art you can hang on your wall, New York based artist Alex Esguerra offers a higher end experience with Love & Paint. He sells ‘Love and Paint’ experiences, where the couple will create the art in a luxury hotel. Packages, including ample body paint, start at $2,500.

A Different Kind of Valentine. Pop Culture Heart Art Collages by Paris Artist Eric Liot.

Paris based artist Éric Liot combines items archetypal of our consumer based society with objects and fragments from pop culture. Pieces of film, advertisements, toys, comics and anime are assembled or collaged to ultimately represent a colorful, decadent society, delusional in its mad self-celebration. These hearts are only a small portion of the artist's work.

Catch Me, 2011:

Pink Lady, 2011:

Cupidon Is A Killer, 2010:

Le piège, 2010:

Liot initially mills out the forms he needs, like wooden puzzle pieces, then he pastes poster fragments onto them, creating from them actual objects in ready-made style or just painting them with acrylic colors. The results are Liot's characteristic collages, which, while somewhat critical of consumerism, first and foremost seduce the observer with their charm and amalgamation of interesting contemporary pictures. Artist's Bio :

above photo by Marie Laborde for Galerie Laurent Strouk

Éric Liot was born the 25th of April 1964 in Caen (France). After school, he begins to study architecture, first in the Normandy, then in Paris, at the "Université de la Villette". But he soon realizes that he feels no call at being an architect or even a student. He is weighed down by the narrowness of the academic education as well as by the cold and total anonymity of the Parisian big city jungle. He feels attracted by the faraway and undertakes important travels to Latin America, East and Central Africa as well as Asia. Each time when he comes back to Paris, the decision to be an artist seems clearer. He gives up university and works as a free lance designing posters and furniture. Little by little he realizes that his objects are more and more aesthetical and original, but less functional. The interiorization of this coincides with the real beginning of Liot?s artistic career. First exhibitions soon follow and so the public success. Many solo exhibitions, fair participations, catalogs and articles relate Liot's quick upcoming. Now he has won fame on the Parisian art scene and begins to make a name of himself also abroad, out of the French metropolis. (courtesy of Galerie Raphael 12)
