To quote the designers, “The intention is to create a friendly, sensual and charismatic object. The smooth, flowing lines of DR offer great versatility”, making it the ideal tub for the family."

The Brazilian designers introduced this new twist on the traditional bathroom, customarily seen as an intimate place dedicated to well-being and body care, now viewed as a space to be shared.

This is a first-time partnership with an Italian company for the Marcio Kogan studio, known and appreciated worldwide for their beautiful architecture and interior design projects.

Two Trippy Tubs For People and Their Plants from Libero Design.

Two organically shaped bathtubs, The Mother of Pearl and The Aurora, are complete with LED lighting, a place for you to soak AND a place for plants. Both designed by Libero Rutilo and Ekaterina Shchetina of LiberoDesign, they are created to be simultaneously stimulating and soothing.

The Mother Of Pearl Spa Tub:

A touch interface lets you create your own combinations of lighting, sounds and aromatherapy. Choose one of the available wellness programs (relaxing, energetic, fun, tropical pleasure) or create your own and memorize it.

Integrated pots allow you to have a glimpse of nature when indulging in the bathtub. You can create a blend of your favorite plants and flowers, such as orchids and ferns.

Hidden faucets and shower provide a feeling of perfect, all-in-one structure.

The Aurora Spa Tub:

The “Aurora” tub is part of the 3 element collection of backlit bathroom furniture, inspired by nature.

The “Aurora” bathtub has integrated LED lights which are cost efficient and friendly to the planet. The lighting diffusion effect is created by translucent material that allows light to pass through it, but in the same time doesn’t show clearly the light source inside the object. The intensity and colour of light can be controlled, creating a chromo therapy.

The washbasin has another particularity, like the Mother of Pearl tub – an integrated pot, that allows you to have your favourite small plants in your bathroom.

The “Aurora” design concept was honoured with a special prize in Cristalplant Design Concept 2013 organized in collaboration with Falper.

The Yin Yang Tub For Couples. Sensual Bathing Without Sharing That Pesky Dirty Bathwater.

Bathtubs for couples are growing more and more popular. The Yin Yang tub, named because its compartments emulate the Asian symbol, has a lot of the bells and whistles that other new luxury spa equipment has (led lights, massage bubbles, music, etc.) but the tub is designed with two separate compartments so that friends, family and other 'pairs' can bathe together as well. Plus you don't have to lay around in someone's dirty bathwater (other than your own, of course).

The Yin Yang couple tub allows each individual to control their own water temperature, bubbles, and colored lights.

above: The tub can be used by only one individual as well.

The integrated soundwave massage means the loudspeakers are actually in the tub so one experiences musical vibrations in their body as well as being able to hear the music and each tub has four high performance color spots to create the atmospheric light - you can even have a rainbow lighting effect if you want a disco bathing experience.

The intense bubbly massage is a result of 120 water and air nozzles. The air mixes with the water through the Hydroxeur® principle and stays stored in the water for minutes (this is called the champagne effect).

The bath comes with optional handles and is delivered with a special frame for tiling on-site and can be clad with ceramics or wood. In addition, each tub has a hand shower and thermostat that operate separately.

The shared experience doesn't come cheap, with the tub priced at a whopping $55,619.12 USD

The Yin Yang Couple Tub by Trautwein received an award at the "GOLDEN WAVE 2013" for being one of the most innovate new designs in the Swimspas and Saunas categories.

The Vessel: A Slick Suspended Sling-Like Bathtub Made Of Carbon Fiber.

Splinter Works' new limited edition tub, the Vessel, was inspired by the hammock. The slick and sexy tub was designed for use in a wet room and is completely suspended above the ground.

The following text is from their press release:
Struck by the synergy between the shapes of two compelling symbols of relaxation, a hammock and a bath tub, Splinter Works were inspired to develop a piece that would provide the ultimate vehicle for total escapism.

The peaceful experience of kicking-back in a hammock has been further enhanced by combining it with the immersive comfort of soaking in a hot bath. By literally elevating the experience of bathing into a suspended sculpture the bathroom has been reinvented as a contemplative sanctuary for artful relaxation.

Designed for use in a wet room, Vessel is suspended from the walls and does not touch the floor. It is fixed with stainless steel brackets that can be covered over, or left revealed.

The bath is filled using a floor standing tap and the waste water released through the base into a floor drain. A downpipe drain can also be installed if a wet room setting is not possible.

Vessel is made from carbon fibre which is utilised for its inherent strength and ability to be formed into complex curves, furthermore the weave of the fabric references the cloth of a typical hammock. Beneath the layers of carbon fibre lies a foam core, which insulates the tub, meaning the bath stays hot for considerably longer than normal.

At 2.7m long, Vessel is longer than a regular bathtub, leaving plenty of room to share the experience. Custom sizes are available but it is also designed so that it can be trimmed up to 20 cm to allow for flexible installation. Pictured here in black, it also available in red, blue, yellow, pink, bronze and pure silver.

About Splinter Works:
Splinter Works’ mission is to create furniture that is engaging and inspiring. Through their designs they strive to enrich the lives of users, enhancing their environment and elevating the experience of everyday life. Their aim is to create work that is individual, thought provoking, aesthetically beguiling, intelligently designed and seamlessly functional. The designs are experimental and theatrical, whilst maintaining the importance of the inherent function of the piece. The work revels in playing visual tricks where balance is often questioned. Opposing dichotomies of solidity versus weightlessness, motion versus stillness, and strength versus fragility are played out in ambitious designs through innovative materials. Splinter Works' limited-edition collection currently ranges from desks, dressing tables, dining tables, consoles, loungers, stools, bath tubs and pool slides. Alongside working on their editioned portfolio, they produce unique commissions where every element, from the intended location and practical requirements, to striking a personal resonance with the commissioner, can be considered and accomplished.

All the pieces are all handmade in Britain. Splinter Works was formed in 2009 and is a collaboration between Miles Hartwell and Matt Withington.

The design studio is based in the UK, thirty minutes south of London.

The Marcel Wanders Bathroom Collection for Bisazza Combines Modern & Antique.

Marcel Wanders' new collection of bath furnishings for Bisazza was unveiled at this year's CERSAIE. The collection is typical Marcel Wanders, combining modern whimsy with traditional elegance.

The Soapbath collection of wash basins and bathtub are modern rounded ceramic pieces and the New Antiques collection of tables, mirrors and consoles combine modern materials with antique silhouettes. Chandelier shower heads and architectural taps round out the collection.

In Marcel's own words he describes the concept for the collection as follows:
"The original concept for the collection came from a fantasy I had of taking a bath in a bar of soap. The ultimate clean! This idea I held for a long time, before Bisazza helped me realize it. Bathing, like clothing, is one of the most personal components of daily life. And interior style, like all style, has become a mode to evaluate the anxieties of contemporary society. The haste and fuss of ordinary life is only getting faster and it is getting increasingly difficult to switch off. People are surrounded by other people all day both physically and digitally and so I was looking for a way to offer a sanctuary from the world. I consider bathrooms to be the one space you can be alone so I designed this collection to provide a fresh, beautiful and solitary space where one can focus and take care of themselves." – Marcel Wanders
