For The Love of Movies and Dogs: Wrigley At The Movies 2.0

above: Wrigley and his owner recreate a scene from John Hughes' Sixteen Candles

I came upon this adorable set of images where redditor mmsspp posted pics of their boss, Chris Naka, with his dog Wrigley recreating famous movie scenes compared to the original movie stills.

above left: as originally posted and above right: an example of my alteration

The 13 images were adorable BUT... and I hope they are not offended... I couldn't stand the way they were laid out nor how poorly the colors and looks matched in some, so I took it upon myself to put them side by side or above and directly below and adjusted the colors a bit so they really look similar.

Here are the improved images of "Wrigley at the Movies":

Dirty Dancing:

Top Gun:

Brokeback Mountain:

Spiderman:

Sixteen Candles:

The Graduate:

Hunger Games:

The Notebook:

Titanic:

Ghost:

A Doctor AND A Lawyer? I'm Gonna Need A Cold Shower. Introducing Porn4Jews.

Lately, there have been so many wonderful things shared by my friends on Facebook, I can hardly keep up. Here's one that will make any self-respecting, matzoh-munching Jew (and goyishe friends thereof) giggle, assuming you have a sense of humor.

The tumblr site, Porn4Jews - 5,000 years of tradition. 5,000 years of sexy, is a tongue in cheek collection of memes that play off on the cultural stereotypes*, clichés and traditions most often associated with Judaism.

Created by New York based writer/director/filmmaker/actress 23 year old Sarah Rosen, the site, which is barely a month old, has been featured on HuffPo as something even your Bubbe can appreciate.

Owning real estate, attending therapy, earned doctorates and law degrees, food.... these are the things that make Jews hot under the Tallit.

The Huffington Post article reports that the models are all Jewish friends of Sarah's from a variety of backgrounds. One is an Israeli fimmaker at NYU, one is a Russian actor/model, some are old friends, or people that attended Yale University with her.

"I first came up with the idea after reading that PEW study in the NY Times that basically said that American Jews are assimilating more and identifying as Jewish less. My own Jewishness has always been really important to me, and the idea for Porn4Jews came from my wanting to humorously celebrate that."

Sarah tells HuffPo that an unexpected bonus of the project was the formation of a community bonding over the blog's making. Together, with the models and photographer, Philadelphia-based Tom Stokes, Sarah was able to bring people together with dirty jokes about dreidels, the Torah, Birthright and more.

"It's also been really cool seeing how Jews from all over (France, Canada, Israel) relate to the blog and find it funny... We had a blast taking the photos -- it was a very collaborative process. Everyone was pitching captions, trying to find the funniest one."

They are accepting submissions and have plans to publish a book.

*And no, being cheap is not a stereotype amongst Jews - that's a mean one made up by bitter, poor non-jews.

Meet Two Lovable Guys Who Don Gay Apparel In Some Very Pun-ny Christmas Cards.

Although Bill Bowersock Jr. and Gregg Higuchi met in the Le Marais neighborhood in Paris in 1997, they soon learned they actually lived less then two miles away from each other in San Francisco. A coincidence that turned out to benefit them and, as you'll see from this post, anyone on their annual Christmas Card mailing list.

After a five year friendship, the two San Franciscans (who are now legally and happily wed) began dating and their tradition of sending out humorous holiday cards was born.

Their first joint holiday card in 2002 featured a photo of their seasonally manicured toes at and the caption, "Living, Loving and Laughing under our Mistletoes":

That was the beginning of their pun-driven, tongue-in-cheek holiday cards that tap into some funny takes on Christmas Culture, from being Vegetarian Deer Hunters to chefs wishing you a Happy Hollandaise.

Each year since they have executed a different theme - from "Christmas Mime is Here" to "Silent Knight, Holey Knight" to " 'twas the Twilight before Christmas."  In 2011, Bill & Gregg were included in a December article in the San Francisco Chronicle by Alec Scott on "Cardies", people who create their own usual holiday cards.

2003, Vegetarian Deer Hunters:

2004, NUTScracker, Men In Tights:

2006, Christmas Mime is Here:

2006, Silent Knight, Holey Knight:

2009, Married Mistletoes:

2010, "'twas the TWILIGHT before Christmas ~ are you Team Santa or Team Claws?"

2012: Late night SF Partying

2013: Two of the Wiser of the Three Men

above: This year's card proves that they are truly wise men, opting for Palm Springs as their mid-winter desert destination.

"We talk through several ideas throughout the year, keeping a running list," says Bill, on behalf of the two.  "Our default conversation topic is often, What should our card be this year? We have a lot of fun planning our Christmas cards."

A true Holiday Ham, I had to include this recent photo of Bill by Rey Rey's Photography donning a Christmas Tree skirt as a cape despite it not being one of their annual cards because.... well, it's fabulous.

Full disclosure is that I've known Bill Bowersock Jr. for over 30 years now and he's one of the brightest, kindest, most generous human beings on the planet. Friends of Bill and Gregg heartily agree.

Foot Locker's Week Of Greatness Is Introduced By "All Is Right", A Hilarious TV Spot About Making Wrongs Right.

"I kept that in formaldehyde" says Mike Tyson of Evander Holyfield's ear, which Tyson partially bit off in a Championship fight 16 years ago, and now returns in a gift box to the former Heavyweight fighter.

Sound funny? It is. And it's just one of the brilliant moments in Foot Locker's new tv spot to promote the stores' Week Of Greatness and the premium shoe releases which begin on November 23rd.

The minute long television commercial by BBDO New York and directed by Jim Jenkins brings back NBA's Kyrie Irving as a spokesman, dreaming of righting the world's wrongs - which also include sending Dennis Rodman to North Korea permanently, seeing Brett Favre finally walk away, and Craig Sager's decision to finally change his wardrobe.
