The Blonds Dress Their Second Barbie Just Like Kylie Minogue - The Blond Gold Barbie® Doll

above top: The New Blond Gold Barbie and below: Kylie Minogue wearing The Blonds in her Get Outta My Way music video.

This is the second Barbie® imagined by celebrity-dressing fashion duo The Blonds. The first, The Silver Diamond Barbie Doll was a big hit amongst collectors and fashionistas. And their very special one of a kind Pink Diamond Barbie was auctioned to benefit charity amongst much Barbie buzz.

Now, the Blond Gold™ Barbie® hits the market. She may look familiar to some of you, especially to fans of music artist Kylie Minogue. Not mentioned on the Barbie Collector site - or anywhere else that I can find, is the fact that the doll's outfit is a replica of the one created by the Blonds for Kylie Minogue to wear in her Get Outta My Way video :

Just like Kylie, the blonder than blonde doll is clad from head to toe in gold. Chain details adorn her golden corset and and inspires her long earrings, golden armbands and even the same ring as worn by Kylie in the video. Gold eyeliner and false eyelashes complete the look.

Unlike Kylie, the barbie doll does come with a mesh woven gold cape and a stand inspired by bars of bullion.

The Beauty of Table Tennis. Literally and Figuratively. Meet Sooyeon Lee.

Filmmaker and photographer Matthew Donaldson filmed model/actress and professional Korean Table Tennis champ Sooyeon Lee in a slow motion homage to both sport and fashion. The skilled and sexy Sooyeon is wearing fashions by Versace, Jil Sander, Christopher Kane, Mark Fast, and Christian Louboutin as she skillfully demonstrates her Ping Pong prowess in the one minute and 48 second film created for Nowness.

Designer Geraldine Chevrolet was commissioned by stylist Katie Shillingford to create the bespoke fringed tights, gloves and hat that are paired with the couture.

Tennis Table champ Sooyeon Lee serves as an Ambassador for actress Susan Sarandon's SPiN, a chain of ping-pong clubs which counts Lee as its ambassador and has locations in New York, Toronto and Hollywood. "It's become very trendy," Lee observes. "It's sociable, you don't need to be super athletic and it's good for the brain."

12 Barbie Basics Get Glammed Up By Famous Fashion Designers.

above: Barbie Basic model no.5 before and after being styled by Justin Guinta for the launch

Mattel recently introduced the Barbie Basics doll collection; 12 different Barbie® dolls, each dressed 'down' in a different, but all black, dress. Simply named model no.1, model no.2 and so on, the hair, skin, eye color, features and stances vary with each doll. You can then purchase "look" sets that include accessories for the dolls.

To launch this new collection, Mattel had 12 top CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) fashion and accessory designers dress the dolls in their own inimitable style, as in model no. 8 shown below left and then as styled by Alexis Bittar, below right.

The styled, dressed and accessorized dolls will then be auctioned on ebay with proceeds benefiting the CFDA. The auction goes live on January 28 (tomorrow) at 10pm EST and runs through February 7. To bid, visit the ebay auction here.
