Jason Freeny Launches His First Mass Marketed Designer Toys: CAPSLS





One minute you're an unknown artist working on a quirky new project; the next you’re being named Clutter Magazine’s Breakthrough Artist of 2011. Suddenly you've got an army of avid Facebook fans following your every move and your pieces are selling for $10,000 each. So where do you go from there?



For Jason Freeny, who made his name by dissecting toys, the answer was fairly obvious. This week Freeny launched his very own line of designer toys; CAPSLs.

CAPSLs are super-durable, interactive keychains with pocket-sized personality and just enough space to store your smallest goodies, like candies, mints, “prescriptions”-- whatever it is that keeps you going.


“For my first line of designer toys, I wanted to add function” Freeny says. “ Everything else out there is all about form, but CAPSLs are actually useful too. And I wanted to add a 4th dimension, since so much of what I do focuses on what’s inside; CAPSLs let you go inside and actually use that space to store things.”



The first series of CAPSLs features 12 original designs ranging from sweet (Flower Bomb) to zany (Frog Squid). Tops and bottoms create an airtight seal, and they’re interchangeable, so you can mix and match with more than 100 combinations.

New York Yankees Pitch Their New Fragrance With A Mobile Truck Experience.





The New York Yankees are pitching their new fragrance line with a mobile truck decked out in pinstripes by Scheck Outdoor.




Driving around New York to build awareness for the fragrance, which is being sold at Yankee Stadium, Macy’s and Lord and Taylor, the truck stops to engage consumers and invite them to try the fragrance along with the New York Yankee baseball 'experience.'




The interior of the truck was designed to emulate a locker room featuring memorabilia from Yankee Greats Yogi Berra to Derek Jeter, courtesy of Steiner Sports Memorabilia. The truck provides a mobile "kodak moment" for passers-by who can pose inside wearing a helmet and yielding a bat.




Passing out samples and loaded with NY Yankees imagery, the truck is both a traveling showroom experience and billboard for the new fragrance line.

The Sober Scoop Behind That Alcohol Spray That Gets You Instantly Drunk.





The news and blogosphere has been buzzing (pardon the pun) about a new spray that gets you instantaneously drunk created by Philippe Stark and creator of culinary aerosols, David Edwards of Le Laboratoire (and the man behind Aeroshots).



The product, WA|HH Quantum Sensations, is two flavored (Flash and Demon) mini sprays in cartridges which hold 2 milliliters of liquid. When sprayed, they deliver 20-25 actuations that provide an effect equivalent to a volume 1000 times its amount. WA|HH Quantum Sensations can be enjoyed as a spray directly into the mouth or onto foods of all kinds.



But the kids clamoring to find the product online (as witnessed by the numerous requests on their Facebook page) will be disappointed to learn that the effect only lasts a second and wears off immediately. * An actuation delivers approximately 0.075 ml of alcohol liquid in the form of micro particles. This ‘quantum of alcohol’ is far too small to stimulate drunkenness, being nearly 1000 times smaller than a shot of alcohol (a shot contains approximately 40-60 ml). It would therefore take several hundreds of actuations of WAHH Quantum Sensations to deliver the alcohol content to the body of a standard glass of alcohol.
