Incredible Sound Mix and Editing Give New Life To Pixar's Monsters, Inc. in Boo Bass

This three and a half minute visual and audio re-invention really impressed me. Boo Bass, an awesome remix by Nick Bertke, is a catchy composition using sounds from Disney Pixar's 'Monsters, Inc.' with fantastically edited footage from the 2001 movie by David Kabisch.

Nick, known as Pogo, records sounds from his favourite games and movies and pieces them together like a jigsaw puzzle to create completely new music. His videos have collected over 40 million views on YouTube, and he's produced remixes for Disney Pixar, Microsoft, Showtime, the United Nations and more. See his work here.

And check out more of the editing work of David Kabisch aka goldpikpikcarrots on his YouTube channel here

Chimp-edited Surf Movie. Final Cut Pro Mastered By A Primate.

Final Cut Pro is so easy, even a chimp can use it. Case in point: This 'surfing' video was actually edited by JT the Chimp, who lives in a private sanctuary located on the outskirts of Modesto, CA. JT the chimp was given the controls of a Final Cut Pro edit system, and quickly mastered the editing process. He obviously favors quick cuts and ambient sounds.

Thanks to seabear video for the info and youtube video.

The Swatch New Gents Collection True Colors Competition

Swatch challenged fashion editors, bloggers and trend setters to style the Swatch New Gent Collection, shown above, and discover their “True Colours." Editorial magazine layouts and video presentations were submitted by well known magazines like Wallpaper, Interview, and i-D, fashion and style related sites like Style.com and bloggers like BryanBoy and Diane Pernet.

Swatch is now asking readers to vote on the submissions. By voting, you are entered into a drawing in which you could win one of the colorful New Gent watches.

Below are the competing magazines and a sample spread from each of them, in no particular order:

The accompanying videos seem to be a combination of "making of videos" of the editorial spreads and on camera explanations and pitches from those who received the Open Brief from Swatch. Some seem to be music videos or motion graphics. It seemed unclear as to whether or not the submissions upon which you are asked to vote will actually appear as editorial spreads in the magazine or not, but a reader tells me they are. To see the accompanying videos (and to vote), go to the Swatch YouTube channel, The Swatch Facebook group site or The Official Swatch site.

At the time of this post, the submissions from ALL Magazine, Kinki and Neo2 have garnered the majority of the votes.

Designers Get Disney-ized. Cartoon Couture Fashion From Elle Espana.

In the August 2007 issue of Harper's Bazaar, the Simpsons posed in couture and just this past week we saw SHREK posing in a fashion editorial for Vman magazine.

Well, the cartooning of couture continues with the April 2010 issue of Elle España.

The fashion editorial, La Moda Animada, is ten illustrated pages in which famous fashion designers have been Disney-ized. Karl Lagerfeld takes on a Goofy appearance, Donatella Versace, Marc Jacobs, Nathalie and Sonia Rykiel, Alber Elbaz and John Galliano all become members of the Donald Duck clan and Jean Paul Gaultier, along with Dolce & Gabbana become Donald, Goofy and Mickey respectively.

Minnie, The Three Little Pigs, Lilo and Stitch, and Toy Story characters make appearances as well. See for yourself.

Here is the entire 10 page editorial scanned from the Spanish fashion magazine:
