Funky Find Of The Week: The iGrow Hair Rejuvenation System.

This hands-free hair rejuvenation system for both men and women, the iGrow by Apira Science, is so hilarious looking it's hard to believe it's a real product. But for $695, it had better be. Developed by industry professionals, the funny looking helmet provides you with the ability to listen to music while employing low level lasers along with high output LEDs to promote thicker and fuller hair.

Choose a 20-25 minute session a few times each week, and if you’re like others who have seen results, you could see thicker and fuller hair growth in as little as 60 days. The low-level laser technology is hands free and pain free, and works in tandem with 30-high-output LEDs that cover the entire scalp with rejuvenating light. Built-in headphones connect to your iPod. Relax and enjoy your favorite music while helping to regain the look of thicker, fuller, and healthier hair. Automatic shut-off.

Within 12 weeks of using iGrow as directed, most consumers report that they experience the cessation of excess hair loss. The appearance of thicker, fuller, healthier hair is typical within 24 weeks.

iPhone Photo Cube Printer. No Software, No Computer, just pop in your iPhone and Print.

Despite the fact that most of us are digital photo people and share many images via cyberspace, they do still make picture frames (remember those?) and people still like to place an actual photo upon their mantel or shelf. For those folks, the iPhone Photo Cube Printer by Vupoint is the perfect gift for this holiday season.

The iPhone Photo Cube Printer.
This is the first printer that produces photo quality pictures directly from a docked iPhone, iPod touch, Android phone, iPad1 or iPad2. Requiring no computer or software, the printer is controlled from your iPhone via a free downloadable app. In less than a minute and without ink cartridges, it prints crystal-clear 300 dpi resolution pictures with vibrant colors, thanks to patented paper embedded with yellow, magenta, and cyan dye crystals.

The photographs are smudge- and tear-proof, fade- and water-resistant. The printer can produce one, four, or 10 images on each 4" x 6" borderless sheet. Occupying no more desktop area than a box of tissues, the printer also charges a docked iPhone or iPod touch. Also connects to Android phones (requires mini-USB cable), iPad, and iPad2.

Comes with one thermal paper cartridge that makes 12 prints. Plugs into AC. 4" H x 7" W x 6" D. (3 lbs.). replacement paper cartridges cost $24.95 each.

TouchFire - A Flexible, Featherweight Screen-Top Keyboard for the iPad!

Many people I know simply do not like attempting to type on the iPad for the same reason that several iPhone owners turned back to their Blackberry. They miss the ease of using a keyboard as you normally would. That's precisely why Steve Isaac and Brad Melmon of Seattle have come up with a thin, feather-weight device that puts the "touch" back into typing - TouchFire.

TouchFire makes typing on your iPad feel like using a normal keyboard. The silicone rubber keyboard is easy to type on, cushions your fingers and weighs less than an ounce.

It's ultra-thin and attaches to the inside of the iPad cover and folds up within the cover, so you can always keep TouchFire with your iPad without it getting in the way. It's so thin and transparent that you can even use the touch screen as you normally would and 'swipe' through it if you so desired. TouchFire fits right over the iPad keyboard and aligns itself magnetically.

Applies magnetically to position directly over the iPad keyboard:

Roll it down to use the whole screen:

It attaches easily to the iPad Smart Cover with two plastic clips:

If you don't have a SmartCover on your iPad, the TouchFire is easily stored in its handy case:

Patent Pending, Steve and Brad are presently requesting funding on kickstarter

A pledge of $45 will pre-order you the starter pack which contains a keyboard, a storage case and a pair of cover clips, all in black. Shipping is free in the U.S. Please add $10 to your pledge for shipping to Canada, $25 for International shipping.

QR Code Greeting Cards Become the New "Mix Tapes" and Send You to Spotify Playlists.

above: A series of greetings cards that when scanned with a QR code reader direct people to themed music playlists within their Spotify Premium smart phone app.

Once upon a time, the "mix tape" was an overture of intimacy, of sharing, a gesture to show you cared by sending someone your own personal musical playlist as a message. Now, Stupid, a collective of young creatives in the UK, have designed greeting cards with customized artful versions of QR codes (they call them QR Images) that when scanned, lead you to specific playlists on Spotify, making them the mix tapes of the new Millenium.

How it works:

The Cards:

above: Music for art lovers

above left: Music for Cooks; above right: Music for Monsters

above left: Music for Geeks; above right: Music for Love

Stupid is presently in talk with various UK companies about producing the cards en masse, but for now, if you'd like one contact them directly here.

About Stupid:
A collective of young creatives who want to work on interesting and challenging projects. With their mix of creative disciplines they hope to do most projects entirely in house allowing them control over the entire creative process. However when they do use outside specialist talent they make sure it's someone very special with an inherent ability to think stupid.

WTF are QR Codes and what is Spotify?
If you're not at all familiar with QR Codes or Spotify, and the above post sounded like a foreign language to you, learn about both at the links below:

A Power Pig with 17 Snoutlets (and the Design Process behind it.)

Russian design studio Art Lebedev is always designing clever items, some as concepts, some as produced items. One of their latest concepts is something I wish would come to fruition. Check out the design process and final protoypes of their Power Strip Svintus with 17 snout-plugs (or Power Pig with 'snoutlets' as I like to call it.)

Task: to play up a conventional piggy.

Svintus power strip is a multi-snout cutie that you will not want to hide behind a couch. It’s a pink, fully functional device with seventeen snout-plugs.

Spiral cord evolved from a pig tail:

NOTE: Since this post, the I'm Watch has been redesigned. Check out the new updated better looking I'm Watch here.

Designed and assembled in Italy, the i'm Watch functions like a smart phone for your wrist. The wireless Bluetooth enabled watch works with the Android phone, the iPhone4 and, come January 2012, the Blackberry.

It can receive and send phone calls, e-mails, instant messages, text messages, stores addresses, photos, receive Facebook™, Twitter™, Foursquare™ notifications, check stocks, read the news and a lot more.

It's available to purchase now in either the Color collection (fun bright colors) or in the Jewel collection (black with yellow gold, white with diamonds, black with black gold, white with pink gold and black with titanium).

The video below shows the Color Collection and is followed by images of all the styles, the functions and technical specs.

The i'm Watch Color Collection available in White, Black, Red, Yellow, Green, Light Blue and Pink:

The i'm Watch Jewel Collection available in Yellow Gold, White Gold, Pink Gold, Black Gold, Titanium:

With i’m Watch you can:

• Visualise the watch both in the analogue and digital format: as you prefer.

• Receive calls showing name and number of caller: and see who is calling you at a glance. You can decide whether to answer or decline a call. All this while keeping your smartphone silent in your pocket.

• Call by entering the number or by using the address book: to make a call, all you need to do is enter a number or touch a name. As simple as that. And you can do it just about anywhere: simply touch a name in your address book.

• Use speakerphone: that’s going hands free. For example, avoid distractions while driving.

• Receive text messages with preview: from today, reading a text message is as easy as checking the time.

• Receive emails showing the sender and the subject: your emails straight on your i'm Watch: sender and subject are sufficient to understand importance of the email and therefore decide whether to read it immediately or later on your smartphone.

• Check the weather forecast of your city: you are updated in real time and wherever you go. Under any circumstance, weather forecast for the next hours is useful.

• Receive notifications from Facebook™, Twitter™, Foursquare™, etc.: i'm Watch is more social than you can even imagine. Keep in touch with the world.

• Download all the music you want from i’music: and then listen to it whenever. What about incoming calls? Music is paused when i’mWatch rings and to answer just click the button on your headphones.

• Download apps from i’m store: each downloaded app offers new functions to your i'm Watch, making it more and more fun and capable of doing extraordinary things.

• View the photo and image gallery: on i'mWatch your photos sparkle and shine in all their splendour. With a touch you can enlarge them and with another restore them to their original size. Just swipe the display and you can slide through unforgettable moments and instants. Always with you, all on your wrist.

• View stock market data and receive notifications: follow and keep up-to-date on all your interests, wherever you are. It is sufficient to personalise notifications you want to receive.

• Receive appointment notifications and consult the same: with only a touch you can check on your next appointment and with a quick glance read a notification.

• You can transform an idea into an app. There are no limits to your fantasy. The world of i’m Watch is open to all developers who, just like ourselves, believe that we are about to write the history of smartwatches.

• Use the apps you prefer and pass from one to another in just seconds without slowing down performances of the app in the foreground or discharging the battery uselessly. i'm Watch is multitasking.
