Gossamer, Glittering & Glorious. The Chanel 2011 S/S Haute Couture Collection.

Ethereal, elegant and classic Chanel, the latest couture collection by Karl Lagerfeld featured over 10 million beads, ballerina shoes with clear straps, low waists and tweed jackets embellished with glitter. Despite the ornate detailing, the entire collection appeared light enough to float down the catwalk. Certain signature Chanel elements like black chokers, camelias, and double breasted jackets were present coupled with stunning pale pinks, nudes and classic black and white. Grace and luxury harkened back to the 20's yet retained a thoroughly modern feel.

DDB Auckland Makes An Impression Selling Shorts For Superette

To promote the shorts sale at fashion retail store Superette, the New Zealand ad agency, DDB Auckland, turned unwitting thighs into billboards by creating benches with reverse embossed lettering that when sat upon created an impression reading "Short shorts on sale Superette"

The plates were placed upon inner city and fashion district bus stop benches, mall seats and park benches. The branded seats were an ingenious way to take advantage of free media space with the impressions lasting about an hour.

Marc Newsom's Limited Edition Hourglasses For Ikepod.

Designer Marc Newsom first unveiled his stunning modern hourglass for Ikepod at last year's Baselworld. The hourglass was created in 2 models, the HGS20 and HGS80. Both are made of Borosilicate glass and measure 300 x 250 mm. Weighing 9.6 kg. the sand is made of stainless steel nickel nanoballs while in the HGS80, it is made of actual gold-plated nanoballs.

You'd be hard-pressed to find a more elegant way to keep track of time.
