Toideloi Stackhouse - Modular Birch Plywood Dollhouses & Buildings.

Designed by Martijn van Tilburg for Toideloi, the Stackhouse is a series of modular building sets that can provide children with hours of play. Castles, Chalet, Villages and Skyscrapers can be easily built and rearranged from the various pieces which are all made from clear lacquered Eastern European Birch plywood. The rooms are large and spacious, measuring 14" x 14" (width and depth) and are 9.5" high. The house works great with 1:12 scale furniture.

Castle:

Village and Skyscraper:

Kids or parents can change the house by arranging and stacking the rooms, balconies and roofs into many unique structures. The Stackhouse is expandable; kids can bring along their rooms on play dates and build a mansion or build up a collection of rooms and roofs over time.

The stackhouses require no screws and have easy assembly. The walls of the rooms simply slide together. No tools required. Once put together the components are very stable. For longer term storage, the rooms can be disassembled in the same way.

Dutch Design. Made in the USA.

Toideloi is a small company specialized in well-crafted original toys. The Toideloi Stackhouse is designed by Dutch designer Martijn van Tilburg. Toideloi follows a philosophy of local manufacturing. The Stackhouse is manufactured in Kirkland, WA.

Brinca Dada Introduces The First Real Modern Furniture For Dollhouses.

Brinca Dada's 32 piece collection of modern miniature furniture for the Emerson House.

I blogged about the impressive modern doll house, the mid-century architecturally inspired Emerson House by Brinca dada back in February and followed it up with a sneak peek at their soon to be released Bennett House in May. Well, tighten your mini seatbelts because now I have a look at their upcoming miniature modern classic furniture line for both of their amazing architecturally inspired toy houses.

Aside from the Vitra miniatures (which are drop dead gorgeous with a price that will make you cry) and the plastic miniature modern chair collections by REAC of Japan, one had to either commission modern miniature furniture or find it on individual seller sites like etsy.

Therefore, I was so happy to see that Brinca Dada will be offering one of the nicest, if not the nicest, line of miniature furniture for dollhouses I have ever seen this coming holiday season.

Designed by Brinca dada, the line is the perfect complement to both the Emerson House and the Bennett House. A clean and sophisticated aesthetic mixes classic modern design with contemporary “in fashion” highlights. In the words of their designers, “The key was to work on every detail to add an extra dimension of authenticity to this dollhouse. We used American black walnut as a common thread, giving a contemporary feel to each room. We then added color as accents, but also as an attraction to children's sensibilities.”

The line has 32 pieces, enough to furnish 7 rooms; living, dining, kitchen, office, bath, master bedroom and children’s room and is crafted with high-quality woods and non-toxic, lead-free stains and paints.

Price for the whole set $200. ($180 if ordered before November) pre-order here.

Mid-Century Modern Miniature. The Emerson House By Brinca Dada.

I was absolutely thrilled to learn that brinca dada of New York has created a modern dollhouse, inspired by Richard Neutra’s Kaufmann Desert House and the Cooper residence designed by A. Quincy Jones. The Emerson House, a stunning modern wood and acrylic glass dollhouse will soon be on the market for $299.

Also offered by brinca dada will be mid-century modern livingroom furnishings and a wooden articulated family.

Now for all the pictures and specs.

New updated pics, posted feb. 28th!

The House:

Inspired by the flat roofs and organic flow of Richard Neutra’s Kaufmann Desert House and the ultra-modern stone, glass, and steel home that A. Quincy Jones designed for Gary Cooper, brinca dada’s Emerson House incorporates beautiful design and exciting play patterns while elevating the traditional toy dollhouse design.

Emerson House features many distinguishing architectural features like glass corners, minimalist cut stone fireplaces, scored hardwood floors and recessed lights (LED, powered by solar panels).

The home has six rooms including a living room, kitchen, library/office, master bedroom, bathroom and child's bedroom. With its large, open floor plan and floor-to-ceiling windows, the Emerson House enjoys year-round sunlight.

Made of wood (birch and others) and acrylic glass, it measures 18"H x 21"W x 30"L and is built at 3/4" scale. All stain and paints are non-toxic and lead free.
