Formal Falconry. Tiroler Goldschmied's Exclusive Diamond-studded Hawk's Hoods in Abu Dhabi.
My friend Jaci is traveling in the Middle East and taking fabulous pictures, a few of which included photos of Faloncry. This reminded me of an Italian Jewelry company I had read about that makes outrageously diamond studded, gold threaded, leather and crocodile falcon hoods for Abu Dhabi.
For more than 40 years Italian Jewelers Tiroler Goldschmied has been working in the profession of goldsmith's craft. Numerous international awards are confirmation for the particular team-work of the Gamper family and exquisitely designed jewellery has become their trademark. Driven by its passion, the Gamper family also designs exclusive refined and bespoke falconry and hunting accessories.
Tiroler Goldschmied developed its own new process to create exclusive diamond-studded hawk's hoods for those who participate in Falconry. Every hood is one-of-a-kind piece and designed according to individual ideas and tastes.
Each accessory can be transformed into a precious one-of-a-kind piece, as unique, mysterious, and graceful as the fascination of hunting and falconry itself. The diamond-studded falconry hoods can be engraved with your handwritten signature, personal initials, or coat of arms (for those who have one).
The well known artisan Mr. Giancarlo Pirrotta makes the falconry hoods out of the finest materials and Tiroler Goldschmied refines them with unique gemstones underlining the grace and magic of hunting and falconry.
Not quite as fancy, Mr. Pirrotta also has a collection of luxury falconry products for Tardini. "Royal Hoods" is a range of falcon hoods, made in American Alligator and embellished with precious feathers, lapis-lazuli beads and 18kt gold thread or rich heraldic embroideries for Tardini of Italy:

A Different Way To Set Diamonds. And Your Dinner Table. Diamonds In Glass.
Way back in February of 2008, I blogged about DIG, Diamonds in Glass, an Austrian company that came up with a way to suspend genuine cut diamonds in borosilicate glass.
The high quality faceted diamonds appeared in stemware, napkin rings, keychains and jewelry items for both men and women. Since 2008, things have changed at DIG. The shapes and silhouettes of their stemware are different and colored or frosted glass is now available. While they still carry jewelry and keychains, those styles have changed as well. And now they've included some unique collaborations such as eyeglasses.
DIG Tableware
DIG uses Wesselton Diamonds of VVS1 clarity. The customer can choose from various sizes depending upon the application. Due to the curvature of the glass, the diamond has the appearance of being much larger than it actually is.

Their drinking glasses, made of borosilicate glass with diamonds embedded in the stem come in white wine, red wine, multi-beverage and champagne styles. The diamonds can be embedded in clear, frosted, black or blue glass surroundings. Diamonds are available in four sizes; 0.15, 0.20, 0.30, or 0.5 carats.
The DIG Imperial glass:
The Imperial Glass is the most expensive Champagne glass in the world (at least DIG says so). The stem of the glass is exquisitely handmade of 180g gold with extreme care by the company Tauerngold. Contained in the Imperial Glass are a total of 8.1 carats of diamonds. The diamonds are partly set into the golden stem by hand, and partly implemented according to the Diamond in Glass process.

Crystal & Diamond-Encrusted Cooper Tires For 60th Anniversary Of Formula 3 Racing.
The press release:
Cooper Tire celebrated the diamond anniversary of Formula 3 racing in Britain by creating a set of jewel-encrusted tyres.
The tyres were made by London jeweller, Freddie Keeble at FK Diamonds, using both diamonds for the 60th anniversary, and Swarovski crystals.
The tyres were unveiled at Silverstone during the launch of the 2011 Cooper Tires British F3 International Series, where they were bolted on to the race car of Carlin driver, Rupert Svendsen–Cook.
The 2011 season is also the 30th consecutive year that Cooper Tire and its associate brand, Avon Tyres, have acted as sole supplier to the prestigious championship. In the last 60 years, the list of former British F3 competitors to progress to Grand Prix racing include such luminaries as Ayrton Senna, Nigel Mansell, Jenson Button, Damon Hill, David Coulthard, Martin Brundle, Nelson Piquet, Johnny Herbert, Mika Hakkinen and Rubens Barrichello to name but a few.
Julian Baldwin, Managing Director of Cooper Tire Europe, said, “The Cooper and Avon brands have been involved in Formula 3 for half of the entire existence of the series in Britain. The diamond anniversary is huge landmark for Formula 3 and we are proud to continue our long-standing relationship with one of the most important single-seater championships in the world.”
Keeble, owner of FK Diamonds, said, “The process of setting the diamonds was certainly a little different from what we are used to doing.”
In order to set the crystals and diamonds, Keeble cut the Cooper logo out of metal and then set the stones within that to ensure they would be secure. The individual lettering was then attached to the tyre with a strong adhesive.

The tires go very nicely with these diamond encrusted racing helmets!
