Cooper Joseph Studio, formerly Wendy Joseph Evans Architecture, has designed this small 850 square guest house in the Dry Creek area of Sonoma. Located on a terraced hill, the modern structure overlooks a field of olive trees and is nestled amongst lavender and rosemary. The home was designed for two scientists who grow olives and make olive oil, keep bees and produce honey, garden and many other endeavors that take advantage of the area’s climate, soils and site.

Situated at the top of an olive orchard, the exposure faces north, taking advantage of the breezes, and shade from existing forests to the south. Exploiting an existing open area with particularly hard clay soils, no trees were removed. The goal was to create an energy efficient, compact dwelling where the clients could sit in shaded areas, entertain friends with their own food production, and enjoy the wonderful views across agricultural lands. The 30-foot-high concrete wall dividing the house was a technical achievement, according to the architects. The home also has a solar array for power and a high albedo [surface reflection] roof.

Luxury Italian status brand Gucci has launched an Autumn Winter 2011-2012 collection of clothes for children ages 2 to 8.

Inspired by the English countryside, the children's collection of clothes, accessories, and shoes, which debuted for the first time last Spring, now have a much wider selection. From formal wear to casual wear to sportswear, there are more colors, materials and styles for little boys and girls.

A British country mood is evident in riding boots, jackets and duffel-coats. The macks and many warm bright little coats are all classics, as in the cashmere model for girls with iconic horsebit detailing.

Knitwear alternates between a sportier casual style and classic chic British mood and little gentleman looks. Rounding out the range of clothes and shoes this season is a wide selection of accessories: trolley bags, school packs, handbags and head bands for girls; hats, gloves and scarves in wool or cashmere, plus ties, for boys.

The children’s collection also includes dressy outfits. Namely, tuxedos with bow-tie, cummerbund and black patent leather shoes for boys; an elegant velvet dress with strass-studded silk satin purse for girls.
