$2400 Dog Bowls? Royal Crown Derby ‘Imari’ Pattern Pet Bowls by Peter Ting.
Does your pet deserve the Royal treatment? Lapping up in luxury? If so, then you may not mind dropping £1,476.00 ($2,371.76 USD) on one of these six unique fine china pet bowls by ceramacist and designer Peter Ting.
Especially designed for 20LTD, Peter deconstructs traditional Royal Crown Derby ‘Imari’ patterns and reassembles them into a contemporary collage. He works on the factory floor and personally creates each piece like a tailor - joining, matching, overlapping pattern upon pattern, colour against colour. Each piece may take up to 6 firings to achieve the desired depth of colour and vibrancy.

He signs each piece (together with Royal Crown Derby Chairman Hugh Gibson), and after the final firing, all the 22 ct gold is burnished by hand (a painstaking and labor intensive task, where all the gold is rubbed with damp silica sand, transforming the dull gold into a lustrous gleaming gilding).

Previously Design Director at Thomas Goode and long-time artistic force behind Asprey, master ceramicist Peter Ting has an unparalleled knowledge of craft skills and industrial production processes, computer techniques and the history of ceramics. He has won various industry awards, designed china for top restaurants to Royal Households and his work has been exhibited throughout the world. The Victoria & Albert Museum have acquired his work for Thomas Goode for their permanent collection.

Modern Custom Handcrafted Wood Dog Feeders and Food Storage By Eastvold.
Eastvold Furniture is a small company based in Minnesota that uses ethically harvested lumber in the construction of their furniture. In addition to their beautifully designed and constructed credenzas, tables, coffee tables, dressers, end tables, consoles and beds, they have three modern dog feeders that incorporate storage for the food.
The Buster Pet Feeder:
Named after designer Matt Eastvold's first Yellow Lab, who was a tough but gentle farm dog, the Buster pet feeder stores the food in the center column so it is right where you need it for your dog's mealtime. Two stainless steel bowls are great for water and food. The tops of the bowl holders are gray laminate for extra durability and sloppiness.
dimensions: 18.0 H x 10.0 W x 10.0 D. Side bowl holders 10"x10" 2 qt. bowls. Bowl height 8 1/2" from floor
woods available: maple, walnut or white oak

The Jesse Pet Feeder:
Named after Ben's Border Collie, a warm-hearted old dog, the Jesse pet feeder stores the food in the center column, so it is right where you need it for your dog or cat's mealtime. Two stainless steel bowls are great for water and food. The top of the bowl holder is gray laminate for extra durability and sloppiness. The Jesse is excellent for small dogs or cats.
dimensions: 18.0 H x 10.0 W x 10.0 D. Side bowl holders 10"x13", 1 qt. bowls.
woods available: maple, walnut or white oak

The Willie Pet Feeder:
Named after Ben's younger, very energetic Boarder Collie, the sleek and modern Willie dog station has a built in storage drawer for food. There are 2 quart stainless bowls with ring seals so water doesn't get into the food drawer.

Ready, Aim..... Walk. The Gun Leash.
Povodokus, the retractable gun dog lead -or leash as people often call them, is a design concept from the clever and conceptual folks at Russian design studio, Art Lebedev.
The lead goes out freely as the dog pulls and reels in when you pull the trigger.

Puppy Chow. PhyDough Is An Organic Food Truck For Dogs!
Gourmet cookies, ice cream and take-home dough are for the dogs. At least these particular ones are. And delivered in a gourmet food truck, no less.
above: Truck graphics designed by Coolhaus
PhyDough is the brainchild of Patrick Guilfoyle, self-proclaimed dog lover, food snob and Francophile. Owner of Burbank's Double Dog Dare Ya, Patrick originally began by creating preservative-free cookie dough for dog owners to bake the treats for their canines at home. Upon recognizing the growing popularity of gourmet food trucks, he teamed up with Natasha Case of Coolhaus Ice Cream Truck fame who heped him to bring the PhyDough Truck to reality.

Made with organic and human grade ingredients, the treats do not use processed sugar though some contain syrup) and Coolhaus makes the soy or yougurt based ice cream treats for the dogs. The PhyDough itself is available for take-home and bake yourself usage. The products need to be kept in the freezer because they are preservative-free.
Note: these are only for canine consumption, not for children or adults.

Have a Koons-Like Christmas With These Awesome Balloon Dog Ornaments.
I know it's not even Halloween yet and blogging about Christmas ornaments before we've even reached the end October should be verboten, but if you're on the hunt for some cool ornaments this year and want to get the good ones before they sell out, you'd best take a look at these. Not that you care, but I already bought a bunch of these this morning.
These Jeff Koons-like* puppies will hip up any tree:
Classic Terrier in metallic red:
Dachshund in metallic silver:
Poodle in glossy green:
Inspired by the wonderful Balloon Dog sculptures of Jeff Koons, these are mini modern art for your tree.
above: Jeff Koons' Balloon Dog at the Palace of Versailles. see a previous post on that exhibit here.
Urban Outfitters is now offering a pre-order sale of these fabulous metallic glass Balloon Dog Ornaments. Each is approximately 4" wide and there are three different styles of dogs (terrier, poodle and dachshund) in three different Christmas-y colors. Note: you don't get to choose which ornament specifically, they do (kind of like blind-boxed), but any of them would be a wonderful addition to a contemporary Christmas.
