Hercules XIII - Classic Meets Cool In Scott Eaton's New Universal Tablet Stand

I thought it would be impossible for Scott Eaton to outdo the cleverness and aesthetic appeal of his Venus of Cupertino iPad docking station, but I was wrong. Behold, his new Hercules tablet holder/stand, a great counterpart to his functional female sculpture.

While Venus is an actual charging station for the iPad ($239.57), Hercules XIII  ($159.71) is designed as to be the perfect height and angle to browse all your media on your iPad, iPad Mini, Samsung, Google or Amazon tablets.  Available in matte white or glossy grey, the resin cast sculpture of the mythological son of Zeus cradles your tablets in a heroic pose that works in vertical (portrait) or horizontal (landscape) formats.

Each Hercules is hand-cast in museum-quality resin and costs $159.71 USD, but they have a pre-order special going on for 20% off.

EDITION: open
SHIPPING: worldwide
ARTIST/DESIGNER: Scott Eaton
PRE-ORDER estimated shipping in 8-10 weeks.

A shout out to my friend Bill Bowersock for bringing this to my attention!

The 'Utter' Mouth Pot or Vase by Thelermont Hupton.

These fun tabletop vessels are made of fine earthenware and measure 160mm x 100mm tall. The opening is that of a human mouth, compllte with parted lips and teeth.

In the words of the artist:
"The Utter pots, using the form of a mouth, are a literal manifestation of the concept of objects ‘talking’ to the user.

The finished piece is humorous and edgy. The parted lips of the female mouth may even be construed as sexual. They invite us to ponder what the rest of the ‘face’ might look like.

The Utter mouth pot is designed to be used decoratively or functionally as a vessel for flowers, pencils..."

Pharmacy Restaurant Ashtrays by Artist Damien Hirst Now Available.

Contemporary artist Damien Hirst tried his hand at the restaurant business in 1998 when he opened the art-filled Pharmacy Restaurant + Bar in London. Filled with pseudo-scientific pharmacy-themed items, Hirst curated every design element from metallic pill-printed wallpaper and pill-shaped ashtrays.

The gourmet restaurant featured fine dining and cocktails with names like "Cough Syrup" or "Voltarol Retarding Agent" served up by a waitstaff decked out in surgically inspired outfits designed by Prada.

The Pharmacy restaurant closed its doors in 2003. Sotheby's then auctioned off the contents after the restaurant closure, with bidding ranging from £1,920 for a pair of salt and pepper shakers to £1.2m for a giant mock medicine cabinet.

However, these ashtrays weren't included in the Pharmacy auction at Sothebys on October 18th 2004, so now they are available for purchase from Other Criteria.
