How Very Enterprising. Reformulated and Repackaged Star Trek Scents Launch To Coincide With Into Darkness.




Now that the new Star Trek movie, Star Trek: Into Darkness is out, the marketiing tie-ins have begun. One of the funniest to me is the selling of officially licensed Star Trek Fragrances.



I have no idea if people actually wear these scents, merely buy them as collectibles or give them as humorous gifts. But in any case, these pop culture inspired colognes for men and perfumes for women make great gifts for the Trekspert, Trekkie, Trekker or sci-fi fanatic in your universe.

You may be thinking you've heard about these before - and you did when Genki Wear owned the official licensing and launched scents to coincide with the Star Trek movie released in 2009

But now that Palm Beach Beaute owns the licensing, these fragrances (One for women and three for men) have been completely reformulated and the bottles and packaging have been redesigned.

Elvis Jesus Launches Their First Fragrances For Him and Her.



UK-based fashion brand Elvis Jesus has just launched their debut premium fragrances, Elvis Jesus for Him and for Her.



Each of the fragrances embraces the deviant ethos of the brand, with each bottle cleverly encased in a bootleg fashion, buried within the pages of a ‘book’– a nod to the origin of the brand’s namesake. Each glass flacon is emblazoned with the Elvis Jesus logo, rose-coloured gold For Her, and pewter For Him.

The books that hold each bottle are bound in lustrous brown or black material, with the Elvis Jesus emblazoned upon each cover, and an homage to the company history upon each spine.

The scents themselves embody the play of opposites inherent within the principles of Elvis Jesus. Graffiti Artists MIRF Create Limited Edition Fragrance Bottle For NY Yankees.




The official fragrance of the NY Yankees has just released their limited edition men’s bottle with exclusive design and artwork done by none other than NYC graffiti legends Mint&Serf aka MIRF.




Mint&Serf's distinctive drippy MIRF, which is featured on both the front and back of the bottle (above) , conveys their enthusiasm for New York, yet also expresses their understanding of the overall brand of the city. "People who know us can tell you that we are both diehard New Yorkers. From Astoria, Queens to Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn to East Tremont Ave in the Bronx to Victoria Blvd in Staten Island, graffiti opened us up to almost every neighborhood in New York City. The multimedia artists Mint&Serf were born Mikhail Sokovikov and Jason Aaron Wall. To promote Prada's latest fragrance, Candy de L'Eau, Directors Wes Andersen and Roman Coppola have created a real tale told in three online episodes starring Léa Seydoux.

Bond No. 9 To Launch The First Digital Fragrance.




Bond No. 9, the New York perfume brand, is launching a new fragrance called HTTP://WWW.BONDNO9.COM this summer. The bottle design is a scannable QR code* that will take you RIGHT to the Web. Available online only (of course) starting June 30th. This one of a kind scent, spanning virtual to reality, features yellow bergamot, pineapple, juniper berry, apple, blackcurrant and cedarwood.



The QR codes will appear in print ads and on the outside of the brand’s Bondmobile, which will direct smartphone-wielding shoppers to Bond No. 9′s website where the $250 scent can be purchased.



The brand’s founder and owner Laurice Rahme explains the motivation to WWD:
“The fragrance business is always doing the same thing and the same thing and the same thing. We wanted to really capture what is going on in the world. Everybody is online. Everybody is mobile. So we have to do a fragrance for that world. It’s a different world. What I love about the packaging is that for all of us in this industry talking about how difficult and expensive it is to train and retain sales people, to have a bottle that speaks to the consumer, directly, is the dream. It’s not a department store [distribution]. It’s not Sephora. It’s beyond that. It’s the most direct way to buy that you could ever have.”

Introducing 'Everything' - The Perfume That Combines 1,400 Fragrance Samples Into One Giant 1.5 Liter Bottle.




Everything is a perfume by directors and artists Lernert & Sander consisting of new fragrances that were launched in 2012.

Over the last year Lernert & Sander collected almost 1,400 samples of newly launched fragrances.






By mixing the content of all of these bottles, they created 1.5 liter of Everything.



This unique (and I'm guessing, odiferous) perfume comes in a specially designed and hand blown bottle, an enlargement of a classic sample bottle.



If you're in Paris between March 1st to 9th, the bottle will be showcased at Colette on 213 Rue St-Honoré where you can have a rare chance to try it.

New York Yankees Pitch Their New Fragrance With A Mobile Truck Experience.





The New York Yankees are pitching their new fragrance line with a mobile truck decked out in pinstripes by Scheck Outdoor.




Driving around New York to build awareness for the fragrance, which is being sold at Yankee Stadium, Macy’s and Lord and Taylor, the truck stops to engage consumers and invite them to try the fragrance along with the New York Yankee baseball 'experience.'




The interior of the truck was designed to emulate a locker room featuring memorabilia from Yankee Greats Yogi Berra to Derek Jeter, courtesy of Steiner Sports Memorabilia. The truck provides a mobile "kodak moment" for passers-by who can pose inside wearing a helmet and yielding a bat.




Passing out samples and loaded with NY Yankees imagery, the truck is both a traveling showroom experience and billboard for the new fragrance line.
