Marina's Birds. Modern Design Meets Folk Art In These Charming Tabletop and Suspended Ceiling Lights.

Marina's Birds by Belarus designer Fajno is a collection of prototype ceiling and tabletop lamps that are a charming mix of modern and folk art attributes.

The tabletop lamps are single bird shaped objects made of either wood and glass or colored plastic and glass. The light, encased in glass, serves as the head.

The suspended chandeliers are clusters of these bird shaped lights with a matching ceiling mount.

They work in both home and office, appeal to both adults and children and males or females. If only I could buy them.

A Vibrator You Can Leave On The Nightstand. Love The Bird Lamp.

Sex toys belong in the bedroom nightstand drawer. At least until now. Lebanon designer Marc Dibeh's "Love The Bird" Lamp discreetly conceals a vibrator stowed in a functioning table lamp.

BIRD CRAP

I'm getting dangerously Anti-Aviary. Why?

Well, If you've been even the tiniest bit observant in the past year, you'd have noticed how birds are everywhere. I don't mean in the sky, or on trees, I'm talking about as a design element.

Bird pillows, bird wrapping paper, bird wallpaper, bird jewelry.
At first it was sweet, then charming and now it's verging on absolutely obnoxious.

Don't believe me?
Just go to ThisNext and type in 'bird'. There are over 3,00 bird-related items on there and over 65 individual lists of bird products. Or etsy. Or, for god's sake, even ebay.

Admittedly, I'm happy to see the actual sport of "birding' increase, but must that be reflected on everything in the marketplace?
