Kate Moss (and That Wacky Little VooDoo Doll) For Alexander McQueen by Steven Klein.

With bright yellow hair, lots of cuffs and clutching a doll in her likeness, Kate Moss is the star of the 2014 Spring Summer ad campaign for Alexander McQueen - her first time appearing in ads for the brand. Shot by the fabulous Steven Klein, the images are accompanied by a short film (shown further down in the post), also directed by the photographer.

In the majority of the dark and moody photos, Kate is clutching a 3D printed doll in her own likeness, who is wearing her own miniature versions of the Alexander McQueen fashions and in some of the shots, is stuck with pins.

I have opted to brighten up the following cropped details a lot so you can see them:

and now, brightened up by me so you can actually see them:

The four and a half minute film, directed and shot by Steven Klein, was inspired by the 1960 British thriller Peeping Tom, stars the 40 year old Moss and was shot in East London:

220 Pound Dress Made of 50,000 Gummy Bears Is A Tribute To Alexander McQueen.

For TWELV Magazine's debut issue, Hissa Igarashi and Sayuri Marakumi created a dress entirely out of gummy bears; paying homage to the late Alexander McQueen.

To create the masterpiece, steel wire was twisted into the shape of the dress and covered with a sheet of vinyl. Then 50,000 gummy bears were painstakingly glued on by hand in a colorful pattern reminiscent of a Chevron rainbow.

Taking three weeks to complete, the final dress was fitted exactly to MAJOR model Jessica Pitti's measurements. And weighing in at approximately 220 pounds, required the strength of three adults to move.

The shoot was held at Splashlight Studios and took 4 to 5 hours to complete.

Fierce, Furry, Feathery & Floral. The A/W 2012-13 Alexander McQueen Collection.

Sarah Burton's fourth collection for Alexander McQueen is her most feminine collection to date. But not without an edge. The Womenswear collection for Autumn/Winter 2012-13 is filled with flowing and soft materials coupled with metal edged shoes, accessories and eye shields.

The Textiles
Marabou Feathers, Mongolian lamb, mink accents and dense layers of organza and tulle in pale pinks, lavenders, taupe, mauve, grey, black, ivory, white and a vibrant fuschia make up the collection. Feathers, furs and silver dandelion and enamel blossom embroideries float on textured surfaces. Funnel necks, Mongolian lamb collars, trapeze lines, cape-backs and bell-shaped, rolled skirts dominate. Pale silk and mohair jacquards appliquéd with felt flowers give way to black and white laser-cut pony-skin over leather and hand-massaged printed, degradé silks and ruffled organzas.

Like one fierce fairytale, the models -with slicked back hair- were clad in shield-like eyewear that covered most of their faces as they donned ensembles that resembled a new species of organic flora.

Hammered metal harnessing (which resembles belts and jewelry) added a hard edge to the otherwise soft and flowing fabrics.

The silhouette becomes increasingly three-dimensional and overblown as the collection progresses. Shape, texture, print and embellishment explode, initially from the waist and finally from the neck down.
